Environmental emerging contaminants - linking chemistry, toxicology and epidemiology

Our research focuses on studying the environmental fate of emerging contaminants; determining their formation mechanisms; developing treatment approaches for controlling toxic transformation byproducts; and exploring their impact on human health. In particular, we are trying to identify and quantify human exposure to emerging contaminants using mass spectrometry. Our goal is to establish links between chemical exposures, biomarkers of effects and adverse health outcomes. The overall goal is to expose and then deal with dangers associated with emerging contaminants in the environment.
